I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols. Sing to the Lord a new song, His praise from the ends of the earth. You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them. For a long time I have kept silent, I have been quiet and held myself back. But now, like a woman in childbirth, I cry out, I gasp and pant. But now, this is what the Lord says - he who created you , O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; - Isaiah 42:8,10,14/43:1,2,3a
The book of Isaiah is power packed with how "Great and Intimate" a God that we have. Isaiah offers us so many rich nutrients to encourage us in our vertical and horizontal relationship with the Father. As we grow deeper in love with our Heavenly Father we will desire to cry out and not keep silent about the God we serve and the changed lives that we are experiencing by His presence and power at work in us. How humbling it is to know that we are summoned by name and called His own. To know that He is with us should create an atmosphere of hope and comfort. Let us be challenged today to be bold in sharing our testimony and the blood of the Lamb. How will they know unless we proclaim the greatness of God in our lives and his Holy Spirit at work in us.
